‘I will not apologise for crimes of my former husband’

Scotland’s former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon spoke to the BBC in her first interview since her estranged husband Peter Murrell pleaded guilty to embezzling £400,000 from the SNP.
Speaking to Laura Kuenssberg, Sturgeon said: “I am not responsible for my ex-husband’s crimes and I will not apologize for anyone else’s crimes.”
He felt he was “being punished for a crime I didn’t commit.”
On Monday former SNP chief executive Murrell admitted using party funds to buy items including luxury goods, jewellery, cosmetics, two cars and a caravan. Sturgeon has consistently denied having any knowledge of Murrell’s crimes.
