The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA), Government of India, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, culminated ‘Inspiring Innovators-Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Pehchaaan’, a skills initiative developed in collaboration with Netflix Creative Equity Fund.

The initiative, implemented in partnership with Graphiti Studios, brings together India’s innovation and creative ecosystems to foster socially meaningful innovation through storytelling and hands-on skill, the ministry said.

During the event, L. Murugan, Minister of State, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, said creators today have the opportunity to bring Indian stories to global audiences with the support of the government’s efforts to strengthen intellectual property frameworks and enable a future-ready creative ecosystem.

“Guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, it is the right time to create in India and for the world, where content, creativity and culture are emerging as the pillars of the Bharat economy. As storytelling enters a new era shaped by creators and emerging technologies, initiatives like Inspiring Innovators highlight how creativity can be applied in the service of society,” he said.

PSA Ajay Kumar Sood said the initiative is designed to strengthen skills and knowledge pathways, along with emphasizing socially connected innovation. Bringing startups together through a creative process, the program reflected a holistic approach with support from the Netflix Creative Equity Fund and industry mentorship.

I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju said India has witnessed remarkable innovations, often driven by social innovators who solve everyday challenges with effective, purpose-driven solutions. “This is truly the age of creators and storytelling, and as we enter an era shaped by AI-driven narratives, it is vital to embrace newer technologies that will enable growth and progress for the next generation,” he said.

Mahima Kaul, director (Global Affairs), Netflix India, said: “At Netflix, we are committed to skilling and upskilling India’s young and vibrant creative ecosystem. Inspiring Innovators reflects a shared commitment to recognizing innovation that delivers real social value.”

The initiative showcases the contributions of eight Indian startups identified by the PSA Office for their work in promoting innovation with social impact. These are highlighted by eight short animated films created by students from eight universities in India, including the National Institute of Design, Chitkara University, Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute and many others.
