John Chan recognized Sydney’s craving for Asian tea blends long before the election. matcha latte trend it kept. When you opened Burwood’s Buz Kirin Bar In 2020, they were ready to fill their freezers with scoops like white peach oolong and Japanese genmaicha. Chan’s investment in the niche market has paid off and he now has four stores in Sydney. The latest opened in Cabramatta in August; Chan says the suburb is a natural home for Ice Kirin Bar, given its connection to Vietnamese and other Asian communities.
