IT IS ALLEGED THAT THE STOLEN AMBULANCE AT THE END OF THE SACRIFICE ATTACK WAS DRIVEN TO THE IDAHO DHS OFFICE BUILDING
The incident comes just days after state and federal authorities opened an investigation into an attempted arson attack on a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office building in Meridian, Idaho.
According to Meridian Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea, the suspect was arrested Wednesday in St. He allegedly stole an ambulance from a department at St. Luke’s West hospital, drove the ambulance to the parking lot and retrieved gas canisters placed in nearby vegetation.
The unidentified suspect then drove the ambulance directly to the North Portico building, where DHS offices are located, Basterrechea said.

Investigators believe the suspect poured accelerant inside and outside the ambulance.
But the suspect was unable to ignite the accelerator before being intimidated by responding agencies, according to Basterrechea.
The area is known to the community, officials said.
“There is a lot of talk about the Department of Homeland Security leasing office space at this location,” Basterrechea said. “Comments on social media such as ‘destroying property is not violence’ are absolutely false. This is clearly an act of violence and had the suspect not been stopped there is no doubt this building would have been burned to the ground, putting the lives of first responders and others at risk.”
