I’m A Celeb South Africa hosts Ant and Dec blast David Haye in rare comments – after Adam Thomas said the boxer ‘broke him’ during his time on show

I’m A Celeb South Africa hosts Ant and Dec have slammed David Haye with their rare comments on the show.

Adam Thomas revealed on Sunday that boxer David ‘broke me and pushed me to my limits’ while filming the series.

The 37-year-old actor opened up about his “tough” experience in the jungle in a candid Instagram post after the pair fought several times.

And this week Ant spoke about David’s behavior on the ITV1 show’s podcast I’m a Celebrity… saying: ‘This is not a pleasant hour. He kind of picks and chooses them.

‘The guy’s had a bit of a rough time and he’s not coping very well. Frankly, there was a lot of banter. But David won’t stop.’

Dec agrees: ‘It’s kind of crossed the line into banter. I don’t find it very comfortable to watch.’

Adam opened up about his experience in a new post on Instagram, writing: ‘Honestly, I took the time to process everything and I’m in a much better place now. I let go of my anger, had the conversations I needed to have, and chose peace.

‘What I’m most proud of is that in times like these, I wanted to walk, I wanted to quit, but I couldn’t. Even if I want to walk away, even if it’s too much for me, I never give up! And that means everything to me.

‘He broke me there, pushed me to my limits and I told David and he apologized and that was it! I’ve moved on now, I’m not one to hold grudges.

‘But thank you for all your beautiful messages and all your kind words ❤️.

‘We all face people and situations that try to break us, but sometimes these moments are what rebuild you stronger than ever. Be kind.’

Sharing a photo of herself looking sad in a hammock, the Waterloo Road star also revealed that her ‘arthritis is really taking its toll’ and that she struggles ‘to hide her pain’.

She wrote: ‘I’m not going to lie, this picture breaks my heart because deep down I know what I’m dealing with and truth be told I thought it was all my fault. Now I know that’s not the truth…

‘I’m a Celebrity’ My time in South Africa was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, physically, mentally and emotionally.

‘Watching it again wasn’t easy at all. ‘There were moments when I felt pushed to my absolute limit and, to be honest, there were times when I didn’t even recognize myself.’

Adam was diagnosed with autoimmune psoriatic arthritis in 2023 and went on to describe his ‘biggest challenge’.

She continued: ‘Living with arthritis is something I don’t talk about as much as I should… but it really took its toll there.

‘My biggest fight was trying to put on a brave face and hide the pain! This in itself can be tiring. There were days when my body didn’t want to continue, but I did.

‘I’m not going to sit here and say I handled everything perfectly, because I didn’t. I wish I had spoken for myself sooner. I wish I could stand my ground instead of trying to keep the peace, but I’ve learned that being kind doesn’t mean being weak, and sometimes finding your voice requires going through tough moments.’

Adam concluded by saying that he was in a “better place now” and that he was proud of not quitting I’m a Celebrity and that he had spoken to David, who has since apologized to him.

The man refused to do the Bushtucker Trial on Friday because he was feeling unwell and dehydrated, and then David said: ‘Who gives it if he’s not feeling well? He’s a grown man.

‘I don’t like men who are a bit useless. ‘I hate those useless men.’

David and Adam also clashed on Thursday night’s I’m A Celebrity after Adam broke one of the ITV show’s vital rules.

Celebrities have been fined after it was revealed Waterloo Road star Adam smuggled a sweet treat into the Lions squad.

The man revealed to Team Rhino camp members that he had secretly bought some chocolates for the camp following a dinner feast for their hungry rivals, Team Lions.

David and Craig Charles, 45, had left camp earlier in the day to compete in the Bushtucker Trial Retching Ball and had only secured seven stars worth of food for the camp.

But when it came time to serve dinner, they were all told they were being punished for Adam sneaking in the chocolate; Two stars were knocked off from the food portions, leaving only five stars.

David was the first to react to the news after Adam’s sneaky antics whined that his sweet treats would probably get them all punished.

After the majority of his co-stars reacted by refusing to starve him, Adam told the camp, “I’m not going to eat tonight, honestly guys, I don’t care.”

But David immediately answered: ‘N“This portion should actually be a little bit smaller than everyone else’s,” he said, which was met with protests from Beverley Callard and Jimmy Bullard.

“All this for an empty gesture,” David groaned over Adam’s smuggled chocolate as the meal was prepared around the campfire by Mo Farah.

Adam went to the Bush Telegraph to open up about dealing with a furious David, saying: ‘We can tell that David is not happy and rightly blames me. He doesn’t stop talking about it, does he?

‘It’s like, ‘Okay, okay, just let it go,’ and he still keeps going, to the point where I don’t know if it’s a joke or if he actually believes it.’

The man later confronted David about his reaction to the dinner segment and the soap actor called him over and said: ‘Well, me and you are out now.’

Annoyed, David replied: ‘We got a lot less than we should’ve gotten when dessert was served, and Scarlett Moffatt ended the argument by saying ‘Leave her alone.’
