JENNINGS: So you’re saying a Democrat would put Obama’s name on a statue that doesn’t belong to him? This makes them look like the stupidest person who ever lived.
PHILLIP: I’m glad you said that, because the Kennedy Center is literally a congressionally named monument.
JENNINGS: This is not a statue.
PHILLIP: It is not a statue, but it is a monument to President John F. Kennedy, just as the Lincoln Memorial is a monument to President Lincoln,” Phillip replied.
JENNINGS: But it’s a statue. There is a similarity.
PHILLIP: Are you ready for a Democratic president to slap your name on?
JENNINGS: Yes, I am.
PHILLIP: –to anyone arbitrarily.
JENNINGS: I’m ready for Democrats to give the wrong name to every statue in America. I think this would be great for their party, just to prove your point. Change all names on statues.
In 1964, Congress named the center after JFK, who had been assassinated the previous year. This month, Trump also announced a new class of warships to be named after him. The President said that he would even include it in his designs because “I am a very aesthetic person.”
