The 68-year-old star recently shared a photo of herself in a bikini by the pool on Instagram. She looks great, but the reason the photo inspired me was that Stone makes no effort to cover up the cellulite, which the midday sun makes even more visible (she does it so cruelly to all of us).
As someone who has been sneaking around the beaches and trying to hide her dimples since the age of 17, this is an act of courage in my opinion. I’ve always despised my ‘orange peel’ (which I have despite being slim and sporty, proving to be largely genetic and female-specific) and have never managed to join the ‘body positivity’ movement when it comes to my less-than-perfect thighs.
In my opinion, they had to remain hidden so as not to scare the horses.

As a beauty journalist for 25 years, I’ve had access to every ‘solution’ for dimpled skin, which most often shows up on our thighs, buttocks or upper arms. After trying over 100 lotions and treatments, here’s my conclusion: not Definitely a real solution. In fact, cellulite creams cannot affect such a deep condition.

As for the many ‘miracle’ treatments administered in clinic, in my experience only a rare few have made a significant difference. Professional massagers Endospheres and LPG Endermologie (from around £100 per session) temporarily reduced puffiness and bloating after multiple treatment sessions.
The injectable Sunekos Cell, which combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids and costs around £1,500 for a course of treatment, has also proven to be good at reducing lumpy tissue, if you can tolerate multiple injections into large body areas. But almost everything else has failed to make a dent in my dimples (despite a shocking cost of up to £20,000 over more than a quarter of a century).
