IMD Issues Yellow Warning To Districts As Monsoon Advances Across Telangana

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow rainfall warning for the city and many regions as the southwest monsoon continues to advance across the region. Meteorology predicted storms, lightning and strong winds in the coming days.

The yellow alert asks residents to “be aware,” “monitor” and monitor changes in weather conditions. Authorities advised people to be careful during the storm and not to take shelter under trees or near power poles during lightning strikes.

According to IMD, isolated heavy rainfall was recorded in Sangareddy and Vikarabad districts on Sunday.

The weather forecast for Hyderabad on Monday calls for generally cloudy skies and light rain or thundershowers, especially during the evening or night hours. Strong winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h are expected in some parts of the city. The maximum temperature is likely to remain around 35°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 25°C.

Rainfall activity is expected to gradually increase across Telangana from June 16 and many districts are expected to receive widespread rain by June 17 and 18. Heavy rainfall is also expected at isolated places in Hyderabad and neighboring areas from June 18 to June 20.

The ministry of meteorology said that there will be no major change in daytime temperatures for the next two days, followed by a gradual decrease of up to 3 degrees towards the end of the week.
