Australia officially recognises Palestine, shrugging off Trump complaints
As the Albanians went to the United States, 25 Republican, including former presidential candidate Ted Cruz and other senior members of the Senate, called him to leave plans to recognize a Palestinian state.
Republicans, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Macron’a sent in a letter, “to continue to recognize your country for a long time in contradiction with the US politics and interests and respond to punishment measures may invite.”
“The proposed recognition is overlapping with sharp increases in anti-Semitic activity in each of your countries. Jews face an unprecedented harassment and attacks against them become a common event … Unfortunately, your Palestinian terrorist state of legitimizing will only provide more motivation to violent anti-Semitic gangs.”
Among those who signed the letter was Florida Senator Rick Scott, Texas Senator John Cornyn, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton and Elise Stefanik, a member of the House of Representatives, who had the original election to serve as the UN Ambassador of the United States.
Trump said he didn’t agree with Starmer about Palestinian recognition during a trip to the United Kingdom last week, and he strongly opposed the pressure of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Rubio said that the movements to get to know Palestine encouraged Israel to threaten the additional parts of the West Bank, and to make retaliation.
During his trip to the Middle East, he told journalists, “We warned them that we think it was inefficient,” he said. “In fact, we think it weakens the negotiations because it strengthened Hamas and we think it weakens the future peace expectations in the region.”
The Albanian government said in a statement that the establishment of a Palestinian state with Israel is “peace and security for the Israel and Palestinian people is always the only way”.
“The President of the Palestinian authority re -expressed the recognition of Israel’s right to exist and gave direct attempts to Australia, including commitments to make democratic elections and make important reforms for finance, governance and education,” he said.
“The terrorist organization Hamas should not have a role in Palestine.”
However, the movement was criticized by the coalition, the liberal leader Sussan Ley said not during the conflict, but at the end of the peace process.
“Today, the Albanian government extends an empty false gesture to the Palestinian people. Hamas, who continues to destroy for the people of Israel, extends a creepy concession action to the terrorists,” he said.
Albania will talk later at a two -state solution conference by France and Saudi Arabia at the UN headquarters later.
The government does not have to pass the legislation to get to know Palestine, and in the United Nations, it is not necessary to vote for individual countries to recognize new states.
Belgium and Portugal will also use the UN general assembly to officially recognize the Palestinian state, a majority of the majority of UN member states.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a violent rival of the Palestinian state, will deal with the UN before going to Washington for the third White House meeting with Trump this year.
Trump will also host Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the White House meeting this week.
