The Art of Gifting, Reimagined

The first thing you notice when you step into the flagship space is how the brand blends hotel warmth with the charm of handcrafted décor. On the other side of the room, frames in various colors are placed next to cake ladders, caskets and unique pieces that can also be used as home decorations.
The idea behind these pieces is simple: They are made for people celebrating at home, primarily at weddings but also at corporate events. As the team puts it, “We’re targeting people having weddings at home, people wanting wedding gifts, and yes, corporate events too.”
With the hustle and bustle of the champagne night, photos being shortlisted and guests entering, founder Shikha joins the conversation. He founded the brand almost by accident a decade ago.
“Honestly, this literally fell into my lap,” he says with a smile. “Madihah is my third baby. My husband is an exporter; we come from an exporting family. He is from Moradabad and the factories are there. Someone once said, ‘What beautiful products you have.'” She recalls how she started: “They said, ‘Start packing.’ I started as a packer. And now this has become my life. “I eat, sleep, breathe my job.”
Made in India, Created by Local Artisans
Every piece at Madihah is handmade and created entirely in India. “Nothing here is Chinese. Everything is made in India by local craftsmen, artisans,” he emphasizes. “Every single piece is made in India. That’s why we can customize everything. We can make any size, any color, any finish… anything you handcraft to us.”
He goes over the different techniques: “Even the glass production – blown glass, mold work, smooth wires, bohemian crystal shine… everything can be customized to your colour.”
Madihah also fulfills large orders with tight deadlines. “People know that if they want very large amounts in a very short time, they come to Mediha. Since our business is related to weddings, time is very limited. There is a date… the ceremony is today, so it has to go. I joke with my team, I do not see the time.”
Their logistics are equally unique, with 24×7 operation at their Delhi flagship. “We send trucks, and we send our team members with each truck. They hand-deliver everything, get it checked, and then they leave. Fresh bread, dessert? They get those from the city to keep it fresh.
Although the founder is headquartered in Delhi and the brand’s flagship is there, Madihah has stores in Ahmedabad, Pune and now Hyderabad. “We felt the urge to open Hyderabad,” says his son Kritarth Bhasin. “The gift-giving trend has developed here. Silver and gold prices are so high that premium silverware and reusable, sustainable gift-giving have become the alternative.”
For years, her Hyderabadi customers had been traveling to Delhi for wedding shopping (designer clothes, jewelery and souvenirs). Now Madihah is here in the city. “We wanted a good location… and now we are here in the luxurious Banjara Hills,” he says.
What makes Madihah stand out is the idea of gifting non-throwaway pieces. “Our USP is home decoration turned into a gift,” he explains. “We do not promote cardboard boxes or paper invitations. Everything is reusable and safe. Everything you give to your guests can later be used as home decor.”
From baby announcement trunks to wedding baskets and corporate sets, everything is export quality. “We export to the UAE, Singapore and Thailand… anything produced in India. Sustainable, usable, reusable; that’s our focus.”
The brand has also launched its own range of desserts and gourmet products. “Earlier, we didn’t do desserts. Now we do end-to-end packages. We have great chefs; one of them was the former Oberoi who worked for us before. He has now been hired full-time. Everything is in-house with proper licences,” says Shikha.
Kritarth also reflects the people who make the brand what it is. “Everything we produce is a tribute to our workmanship, our karigars. We created this brand thanks to them. We must give justice to our workmanship.”
