‘India Is Coming To The Table’: White House Trade Advisor Peter Navarro | World News

US White House Trade Advisor Peter Navarro claimed that India came to the negotiation table in an interview with CNBC on Sunday (local time).
“India is coming to the table. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a very conciliatory, beautiful, constructive tweet and President Trump responded. We will see how it works.” He said.
In an interview, Navarro said that countries still negotiate on trade issue and are working on ‘trade barriers’.

“But as a practical issue, we know that they have the highest tariffs of any great country on the trade side. There are very high -tariff barriers. As we deal with every other country that does this, we had to deal with it.” He said.
Navarro emphasized the sudden problem with the purchase of Russian oil after the United States started on February 24, 2022.
“And in the meantime, there is this problem that India’s purchase of Russian oil. You never understood this. You never understood. It never did it before 2022. he said.
Navarro later criticized India for connecting Russia and China.
“Then they use this money to buy Russian oil, and then the Russians use it to buy weapons. And then, as taxpayers, we have to pay more for Ukraine’s defense. And how can this be.
Meanwhile, Brendan Lynch, the US Deputy Representative of the US South and Central Asian Trade, comes to India tonight, and a government official said he would continue to negotiate with an Indian colleague about the bilateral trade agreement. Authorized, US-India trade talks are planned to be held on Tuesday.

In the last few months, India and the US are negotiating for a temporary trade agreement.
