ADMK Workers’ Rights Restoration Committee Coordinator O. Panneerselvam on Friday, December 5, 2025, said that during his recent visit to New Delhi, he conveyed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah that the AIADMK should “recapture its former glory and strength”.
He spoke to reporters at Marina after paying tribute to former AIADMK general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on her 9th birthdayThis On his death anniversary, Mr. Panneerselvam, a three-time Chief Minister, reiterated that he had discussed the overall political situation in the state with Mr. Shah.
He said his next move would be in line with the wishes of the organization’s volunteers. In another question, he denied that he was planning to establish a new political party.
‘No going back to NDA’
AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran told reporters: [AIADMK general secretary] Edappadi K. Palaniswami remains a candidate [of the National Democratic Alliance] There is no chance of my party joining the NDA for the Prime Minister’s post.” Responding to a question posed by journalists, he pointed out that he and his colleagues, while taking oath at Jayalalithaa’s mausoleum, had promised to work hard to “defeat treason” in the Assembly elections.
Did he have any plans to meet Mr. Shah? “No,” replied Mr. Dhinakaran, adding: “They certainly [the BJP] “He won’t invite me.”

Earlier, Mr. Palaniswami, along with senior members of the AIADMK, paid floral tributes to the Jayalalithaa memorial at Marina. They decided to work to bring the party back to power.
