India-Jamaica ties characterised by ‘continuity and change’: Jaishankar

Ties between India and Jamaica are characterized by “continuity and change”, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on Sunday, May 3, 2026, emphasizing that this relationship is based on a common history, draws strength from existing cooperation and aims for a future full of greater opportunities.

In an interview with Jamaican PickerMr Jaishankar also said both countries “must continue to work together to build a deeper and more resilient partnership that benefits our people and contributes to a more just world”. Mr. Jaishankar arrived in Jamaica on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for his first visit to the Caribbean country with the aim of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
