India-US defence ties pick up as Air Chief Marshal AP Singh visits US to strengthen partnership

The visit comes after US Indo-Pacific Command Admiral Samuel J Paparo visited India from February 14 to 19 with the aim of cooperating on India-US common security interests and strengthening the nations’ close military ties, an official statement from the US Indo-Pacific Command said.
According to the statement, the visit to New Delhi, Chandimandir and Bengaluru underlined India’s vital role in advancing regional security and strengthening military interoperability in land, sea, air, space and cyberspace. While in New Delhi, Admiral Paparo met senior Indian defense officials, including Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi. These discussions focused on areas of mutual interest, including India’s contributions to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

The event provided a platform where graduates could exchange ideas, strengthen professional networks, and explore collaborative solutions to regional security challenges.
The statement stated that Admiral Paparo visited India’s Western Command together with US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor in Chandimandir to discuss operational security dynamics on India’s western and northern fronts.
Admiral Paparo concluded his tour in Bengaluru with visits to the Aviation Development Agency and the National Flight Test Centre, highlighting the expanding cooperation in the defense industry and innovations in aviation.
