Indian electronics manufacturers face double whammy with import curb on gold compounds

The new Delhi faces the electronic production sector, which struggles with China’s restrictions on China’s rare earth magnet exports, on July 6 (PTI).
It has various benefits from rare soil magnets, computer chips and electronic components to electric vehicles, wind turbines and medical equipment.
Gold compounds, motherboards, semiconductors and so on. It is also widely used in critical electronic components to improve the flow of electrical current.
The General Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT) re -classified the imports of colloidal precious metals and compounds in the “free” category of “Free” and “limited” category of 17 June.
Development followed the restrictions on exports of rare soil magnets and private capital goods from China.
He said in a letter to the Ministry of Electronics, the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), and that the import restriction brought uncertainty in the efforts of the industry to measure domestic electronic production.
“The latest import restriction affected the usability of this critical material. This has brought uncertainty in the light of ongoing efforts to measure electronic production. He said.
While demanding measures to solve the import of gold compounds, Mohindroo said that the electronic component production scheme (ECMS) aims to localize basic components such as printed circuit cards, camera modules, mechanical parts and connectors – all of them require a gold -based material as part of the production process.
Electronic component manufacturers said in a letter to the body Elcina Electronics Ministry and that customs authorities began to keep the shipments of potassium gold cyanide and similar materials, which caused significant delays in production lines and corruption to supply chains in the electronic production sector.
Elcina Secretary General Rajoo Goel, potassium gold cyanide, colloidal precious metals and other compounds, connectors, high -level PCBs and semiconductors, including electronic components are used as critical raw materials, he said.
“These inputs are imported on a real user basis and are completely consumed in the production process. He said.
Elcina said that the import restriction will adversely affect the ease of doing business for electronic components manufacturers, and that the government’s flagship plans such as ECMs, PLI and specifications will adversely affect the ease of ‘Make’ in India ‘ease.
In April 2024, China, the high-level performance used in consumer electronics, applied strict export licenses on rare soil elements such as terbium and dysposium for NDFEB (Neodimium-Demir-Salon) magnets.
Elcina estimates that more than 21,000 work is at risk in Noida and Southern India in the sound electronics segment of the country’s sound electronics segment due to the restrictions imposed by China on the export of rare land metals.
Electronic production services companies face problems in importing capital goods that delay their production from China.
Recently, the iPhone manufacturer Foxconn had to send back hundreds of Chinese technology professionals who helped educational professionals to expand the production capacity of the company to the Indian unit and to transport machines.
