Indians stand shoulder to shoulder with Venezuelans: Cong condoles loss of lives in twin quakes

The opposition party said that the people of India stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Venezuela in this hour of pain.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their loved ones, those still trapped under the rubble, the injured and the countless rescue workers who risked their lives to save others,” the congress chief said. he said.

He said India and Venezuela have long had warm and friendly relations based on mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation.
“In this moment of deep pain, the people of India stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Venezuela,” Kharge said. He said India is ready to provide humanitarian aid and all possible support to the Venezuelan people facing this grave tragedy.
“May those who lost their lives rest in peace, may the injured recover quickly, and may the resilient Venezuelan people find the strength to rebuild and heal,” Kharge said.
The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that occurred on Wednesday evening were among the strongest earthquakes in Venezuela in more than a century and were felt throughout the region.

The official death toll rose to around 235 by the end of Thursday, with at least 4,300 people injured, Venezuelan Health Minister Carlos Alvarado told state media. The number of casualties is expected to rise by the thousands.
