The “huge jump” in defense exports reflects growing “global confidence” in India’s indigenous defense capabilities, Mr Singh said, adding in his social media post that the country had “authored an impressive defense export success story”.
“India’s defense exports reached an all-time high at a record ₹38,424 crore in fiscal 2025-26. This marks a strong growth of 62.66% over the previous fiscal,” the Defense Minister said.

“This massive increase in defense exports at ₹ 14,802 crore reflects growing global confidence in India’s indigenous capabilities and advanced manufacturing prowess,” he said.
He said this milestone, with DPSUs (defence public sector undertakings) contributing 54.84% and the private sector contributing 45.16%, demonstrates the strength of a collaborative and self-reliant defense ecosystem.
India’s defense exports in 2024-25 were ₹ 23,622 crore in 2024-25. In 2023-24, this figure was ₹ 21,083 crore.
