India’s solar export boom collapses as US tariffs bite

“The boom in India’s solar exports to the US is slowing as high tariffs in America erode the profitability that once made the market so lucrative,” said Sweta Jain, research analyst at Anand Rathi Institutional Equities. “The attraction was the sharp price difference,” he said. He said Indian companies typically earn 50-100% higher profits on US exports than at local or global prices, resulting in superior margins.
