NYPD officer shot during carjacking by career criminal, Adams rips justice reforms

The suspect, 28 -year -old Kevin Dubois, then was allegedly trying to rob people at a gas station before parking a service road in Queens.
Officers and narcotic agents from the local region responded to the scene just before 9 am and said Dubois showed what looks like a weapon.
Then three officers opened fire and one officer was shot. Dubois was injured by the police and caught. No weapons were saved in Dubois.
The NYPD commissioner Jessica Tisch said that Dubois was a criminal filed four times with 10 previous arrests, including multiple knife points and attacks on police officers in a press briefing.

Tisch, Adams and union representatives blamed criminal justice reforms for allowing someone like Kevin Dubois to return to the streets.
The shooting comes only weeks after the NYPD officer Didarul Islam was shot in a Manhattan building with the other three victims.
“Mr. Dubois was now released from prison in March of this year after being released for robbery and was actually arrested yesterday because of the theft of Service in Manhattan and only one table view ticket (DAT) was released.” He said.
“Before the 2020 criminal justice reforms, any person on the conditional evacuation would not be suitable for a Dat. Mr. Dubois has a history of the Uber driver and a emotionally uncomfortable person (EDP) with the department before the incident.”
Adams also exploded the current legislation and allowed the release of violent criminals and endangered the people and police officers.
“This madness arrested the same people over and over again and awaits change.” He said. “The guilty was released today before driving a car.”
Adams, Friday’s shooting accusation was based on the release of the suspect, he said.
“Dangerous people are sending a terrible signal to the people to return to our streets as in conditional evacuation yesterday.” He said.
Adams, “Regardless of who attracted our detective, there is a person responsible for starting the chain of events that went to the hospital today.” He said. “This is a man who should be behind the bars, not on our streets.”
