IndiGo launches ‘IndiGo Lite’ cabin baggage-only fare to offer cheaper tickets

India’s largest domestic airline IndiGo on Wednesday announced that it has launched a new range of low fares for passengers traveling with cabin baggage only. This announcement comes at a time when carriers are trying to unbundle services to lower ticket prices.
IndiGo’s chief rival, Air India, also introduced a basic economy fare without free meals for “price-conscious travellers” last month.
IndiGo’s new entry-level fare is called ‘IndiGo Lite’. This is a cabin baggage-only fee for the airline’s economy class customers.
The fare will be valid for domestic and international flights and will be available for booking via the airline’s app or website from July 1st and will be available for travel from July 15th.
This is an evolving story. Check back later for more updates.
