IndiGo To Launch Vijayawada-Varanasi, Kolkata Flights From Aug. 13

Vijayawada: Vijayawada’s air connectivity will improve with IndiGo launching direct flight services to Varanasi and Kolkata from August 13. Flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh announced the new routes at his camp office in Vijayawada on Tuesday. He said the services would reduce travel time and increase tourism, pilgrims, trade and investment.

According to IndiGo, flight 6E 6502 will leave Vijayawada at 18.20 hrs and reach Varanasi at 20.15 hrs, then continue to Kolkata and arrive at 22.15 hrs.

Return flight 6E 6501 will depart Kolkata at 14.10, stop at Varanasi and reach Vijayawada at 17.50.

The minister said the new services will create new opportunities for tourism, trade and regional economic growth while improving connectivity with the spiritual city of Varanasi and the historic city of Kolkata.

IndiGo AP sales manager Mohit Krishna and Vijayawada assistant manager (operations) Subhani attended the programme.
