IndyCar rookie Caio Collet was involved in a horrific crash near the end of Sunday afternoon’s Indianapolis 500, where Felix Rosenqvist and Pato O’Ward were battling for first place.
Collet broke loose in Turn 2 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and overcorrected enough to send his car into the wall. His right rear part caught fire as he slid down the track and into the grass.

He managed to steer clear of the horrific wreckage but track officials called for a red flag. The red flag stopped the race and gave the drivers a breather that would lead to a full-blown shootout in the final few laps.
