Army troops foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, officials said.
Officials said that suspicious persons were observed trying to sneak into this direction from the Turkandi forward area around 4.15 in the morning, which caused the army to open fire.
The military confirmed that an attempt to infiltrate from across the border was foiled. “Acting on reliable intelligence inputs and continuous surveillance, movement of terrorists along the LoC in Bhimber Gali general area was detected in the early hours of March 4.”
“Responding with decisive force and displaying superior tactical execution, the White Knight Corps’ alert troops quickly moved in, thwarting the infiltration attempt and denying any breach of the LoC. The enemy’s designs were effectively thwarted through coordinated ground action.” X.
Officials said it was not yet clear whether any suspects were shot in the fire.

“Our own forces have been reoriented to maintain relentless dominance of the region, supported by integrated land and air surveillance. A robust operational posture and high alert remains in effect across the sector,” the military said, adding: “The Wall remains alert; any infiltration attempt will fail.”
On February 19-20, army troops foiled an infiltration attempt in Sunderbani area of Rajouri, which led to the seizure of some weapons and ammunition.
