Influencers Andrew, Tristan Tate expected in US court

Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate will appear before a US federal magistrate judge in Miami after being arrested in the UK facing rape and sex trafficking charges.

The Tates remain in federal custody following their arrest Saturday. In the coming weeks, a U.S. district judge will consider whether the men meet extradition conditions.

The brothers’ attorney, Joseph McBride, called the latest accusations “dirt and slander” and said they were being held in solitary confinement.

He said of

“This is un-American and unconscionable,” he said.

On Sunday, McBride said he was confident the extradition request would be denied when they appear in court Monday.

Prosecutors in England said the new charges related to four more victims and were brought after authorities received evidence from Bedfordshire Police in southeast England.

The charges, which cover alleged incidents between 2010 and 2017, include rape, assault, human trafficking and offenses related to “indecent images of a child and extreme pornography”.

The brothers currently face charges of rape, causing bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling gainful prostitution in relation to three other victims in the UK between 2012 and 2015.

The new allegations are the latest in a long-running international legal saga involving the US, UK and Romania involving the Tates. The brothers have repeatedly denied wrongdoing.

Their social media empires, which promote wealth, male domination and misogyny, have made them among the world’s most polarizing internet personalities.

Dual US and British citizens moved to Romania in 2016.

They were arrested there in 2022, accused of participating in schemes that encouraged the sexual exploitation of women. They denied these allegations, and the Romanian case did not proceed due to legal and procedural issues.

In 2025, they were allowed to leave Romania and flew to Florida.
