Injured NSW Police officer Scott Dyson wakes from coma after December 14 Bondi terror attack

NSW Police Constable Scott Dyson has woken up from a medically induced coma for more than a week after being seriously injured in the Bondi terror attack.
Constable Dyson had been based at Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command for 18 months before he was injured in the fatal attack.
Officer Dyson had reportedly recently found out he was going to be a father because his partner had become pregnant.
His family, Const. Dyson undergoes surgery almost every day and has been showing signs of strength lately.
They described the development as a “positive sign” and thanked the public and medical staff for their continued support.
“Scott has been in a medically induced coma since the incident on Sunday, December 14, 2025, and has undergone surgery almost every day,” they said.
“Our family would like to share that Scott is getting stronger every day and today (Tuesday, December 23, 2025) was awakened for the first time.”
“There’s still a long way to go in his recovery, but it’s a positive sign.
“We would like to thank the public for the support, messages and well-wishes shown to Scott and our family during this difficult time.
“We are also grateful for the tireless work of the medical team.
“Our focus remains on Soctt’s ongoing recovery and we ask that our family’s privacy be respected.”
