Whitebark fires up hydrogen hunt with sensor blitz at giant SA play

All three targets are properly stuck under 300m sea mud and locked with a first class salt gasket. This installation is common for a wider Alinya formation and has proved an excellent indicator of natural gas traps in other parts of the basin.

Adding more fuel to the fire, Rickerscote sits in a bed of radioactive granite, which has been cooking for more than 700 million years, constantly producing hydrogen and helium.

This is the same description of Gold Hydrogen’s Ramsay project on the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia and near the nearby Amadeus Basin. Now it supports Whitebark’s great bet in Rickerscote.

Nik Sykiotis, the Operation Officer of Whitebark Energy Chief, said: “The data obtained from this questionnaire will help to choose the last well position for the RickersCote 1, which we plan to make Spud until the end of 2026. A significant portion of the well will be to secure a suitable farm partner who brings technical expertise and financing capability. We continue to organize the right organization.”

Whitebark says he had the opportunity to talk to Maralinga Tjarutja traditional owners to get permission to use existing water holes on the grounds of project.

If approved, the company will test water for extra hydrogen, helium, oil and gas symptoms that can support a large underground discovery hopes. The work is expected to end until October when the sensor data is analyzed.

While the sensors are doing their jobs on the spot, Whitebark runs in the background to run a reel in a partner on a farm. And Rickerscote is shaped as a potential basin opener, the company says serious players already knock on the door.

Soon with sensor data, the sampling continues, and the apparently locked 2026 drill target is collectively gathering Whitebark’s RickersCote campaign.

If the skin rises, the rickerscote may be a game open, and the big shot in Whitebark may be the arm that must rocket from the small cover area.
