The Duke of Sussex has returned to the UK for a series of events, including celebrating the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games. Prince Harry then traveled to meet his father, King Charles, at his residence Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, where he was hosted by the monarch and Queen Camilla. The Duke was joined by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and the couple’s two children, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet. It is the first time they have seen their grandfather since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.

TalkTV presenter Kevin O’Sullivan spoke at the special royal gathering, which Buckingham Palace confirmed took place on Friday. King Charles and Queen Camilla, 78, had welcomed the family to Highgrove House earlier that day.

Speaking on Tuesday’s edition of his programme, Kevin commented: “Suddenly everything blew up but they managed to fly in from Portugal to Meghan, Archie and Lilibet. We couldn’t see them. They went straight to Highgrove and eventually the King was able to see his grandchildren.”

“But it was a complete mess, wasn’t it?”

Journalist and royal biographer Angela Levin agreed, sharing her sources that revealed what happened during the family reunion.

He said: “It was a mess. The interesting thing was that the King insisted that Camilla be with him. Camilla was very particular about how people talked to her, especially Harry.”

The show guest suggested Meghan and Harry were disappointed after the meeting.

“Neither of them got what they wanted,” Angela said, claiming: “Harry had sent a list of what he wanted. He stayed in one of the palaces. Everything was going to be their way. They got nothing.”

Angela concluded: “I think [Harry and Meghan] They must absolutely hate him. “There would be conversations, but they weren’t very warm.”

The journalist also suggested that the king would invite Archie and Lilibet to play in the “mini house” in the garden.

Highgrove is famous for its extensive organic gardens, which the King designed and cultivated over forty years. One of the estate’s most notable features is the thatched-roof Tree House, built in 1988 for Princes William and Harry and since renovated for King Charles’ grandchildren.

Both the palace and the Sussexes are reportedly determined to keep details of the meeting secret to further reconciliation efforts.

Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl reported that the palace would not comment on the meeting or how long it lasted. A source told Nicholl that the king was “determined” to keep the meeting secret, and Harry “reassured” his father that he would not speak publicly about the family reunion.
