Inside Randa Abdel-Fattah’s legal action against Malinauskas

Framing is everything. The trials of Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah demonstrate this as clearly as the countless social conflicts that endlessly sprout from the Palestinian crucible. How you see it depends entirely on the lens you choose.

From my perspective, as a lawyer who represented Abdel-Fattah in his dealings with Adelaide Writers’ Week, who filed notices of defamation concerns with the Adelaide Festival Corporation and South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas, and as someone who has spent much of the last two years working with more than 50 individuals and organizations aimed at silencing our current Gaza issue, this feels like absolute madness.
