Insider reveals reason behind Prince Harry’s ’emotional outbursts’ | Royal | News

From his 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview to his 2022 docuseries Harry and Meghan and even his 2023 memoir Spare , Harry hasn’t held back from talking about the damaging aspects of being in the public eye and in one of the world’s most famous families. Harry’s admissions include that he used drugs in his youth and that he did not always process his grief over his mother’s death in a healthy way.

While Harry spoke about the importance of therapy and dealing with trauma as he spoke at a Movember event in Australia this month, a former royal editor who used to be by the prince’s side said his emotional outbursts over the years were probably down to one thing.

It’s the fact that Harry wears his “heart on his sleeve.”

This appears to be a different approach from that of his estranged older brother, Prince William, who is better able to distinguish emotion from moments in the public eye.

Although over the years William openly expressed his pain following his mother’s death, he always kept his cool and did not reveal much about his private life; Some might argue that Harry couldn’t do this.

Speaking to New magazine, Duncan Larcombe said: “He (Prince Harry) was very open about his childhood being flawed and traumatic and his personality was very ‘wear your heart on your sleeve’, so maybe that’s why – unlike William – he seems to be tortured by it and why he has these emotional outbursts.”

He openly admitted: “I knew there were things from the past that I had to deal with.

“For me, there is an element of choosing therapy because you think there is something or something that needs to be fixed.

“There’s also another form of therapy that’s preventative and gets in the way of this. You don’t have to wait until you’re lying in the fetal position on the kitchen floor.”
