Andy Burnham calls on Starmer to tackle ‘explosion of homelessness’
Coarse sleep has almost doubled since Covid.
The Mayor of Manchester Büyük made pressure on the Prime Minister to follow the success of the region that offers housing to homeless.
“If you prepare people to succeed – they do it to a large extent, Burnam said Burnham. “Struggling with homelessness is not only an economic necessity, but also a moral task.”

CSJ warned that coarse sleep is the “only tip of the iceberg ,, councils throughout the country spend billions of spending for temporary accommodation and pushed to the brink of bankruptcy.
Labour’s manifesto, after saying that the progress of the crisis was taken back under conservatives, he promised to “put Britain back to end homelessness”.
He committed to work with mayors and councils throughout the country on a strategy to end rude sleep.
The CSJ called on the Labor Party to adopt the first approach to a housing similar to the Büyük Manchester’s, which provides unconditional access to the homeless and continuous support to the homeless.
“The housing was first shown to be the most effective and well -proven intervention to end homelessness for the most disadvantaged and built -in coarse sleep.”
He found that the first house was three and a half more effective than traditional homelessness services and 84 percent of users continued long -term houses in the program three years later.
For the first time in the UK, the houses would take 5,571 people from the streets of one tenth of all the rude travers until 2029/30.
And CSJ said it was “the perfect value for money, and that every 1 £ was spent to increase temporary accommodation and other costs.
CSJ CEO Andy Cook said: “First, it appeared as one of the most effective approaches to end the rough sleep. Angela Rayner has a unique opportunity to defend a national presentation that will be a Gamechanger in the fight to end rude sleep.”
And the region, the Mayor of Liverpool, who first tried the housing attempt, said: ık We have proved that it is working.
Steve Morgan Foundation, which supports charities, said that Housing was first “a transformative ve and that it is time to take this success to the rest of England”.
Mayor Steve Morgan said: “I know the importance of a stable house from the first hand.
