AMR Group Chairman Donates Gold Articles Worth Rs 2.5 Crore to Anjanadri Temple

copal: AMR Group chairman Dr A Mahesh Reddy donated gold items worth Rs 2.5 crore to the Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple atop Anjanadri Hill, the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, during special religious ceremonies on Friday.

The ornaments donated included an intricately designed gold prabhavali (decorative belt), golden umbrella, crown and mace dedicated to Lord Anjaneya Swamy.

Early in the morning, AMR Group owner Dr A Mahesh Reddy and his wife, along with Gangavathi MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy and his wife, visited the temple and offered special prayers at the Hanuman Padaghatta temple located on the outskirts of Anjanadri.

Later, Dr Mahesh Reddy and his wife, along with Janardhan Reddy and his wife, carried the golden crown, mace and other items and climbed the 525 steps to the hill temple.

They participated in various religious rituals at the hilltop Hanuman temple. Later, the gold ornaments were officially handed over to the temple authorities.

The temple priests then decorated the idol of Lord Hanuman with golden prabhavali, crown, mace and umbrella. Later Maha Mangalarati was performed and devotees took darshan of the deity.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy said that both the Central and State governments have allocated funds for the development of Anjanadri. He said that the land acquisition process for the project is currently ongoing.

Referring to the proposed development works on Anjanadri Hill and the temple, he said that development works such as the construction of the temple gopuram and the cable car project will be started after the necessary documents confirming that this is not a forest area are completed.

Janardhan Reddy also Dr. He said that Mahesh Reddy had earlier donated to many temples, including the Shirdi temple, and had also undertaken renovation works of certain shrines. In the same spirit, he has now donated to the Anjanadri temple as well.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of officials, political leaders and devotees, including Gangavathi Tahsildar Vasantha Kumari, Kanakagiri Tahsildar Vishwanath.
