Considering that the 47 -year -old Kapil Raj is 60, he resigned from the government service he served for about 15 years.
IRS Kapil Raj resigned from the government service after serving for about 16 years. It is an old officer who controls the arrests of the two heads in accordance with the anti -money laundering law. An Emir given by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday, “the resignation of the President of the Indian President from 17 July to the Indian Revenue Service (customs and indirect taxes) is pleased to accept,” he said.
Who is Kapil Raj?
Raj comes from a middle -class family in the Saranpur region of Uttar Pradesh. IRS Kapil Raj belonged to IRS’s 2009 party. He participated in the arrest of 45 -year -old Hemant Soren (Jharkhand) and Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi). Sources close to the officer spoke with the PTI and considering that the retirement age was 60, he attributed ‘personal reasons’ for resigning from the government service he served for more than 15 years.
Kapil Raj’s term of office at ED
Raj has worked at ED for about eight years and recently completed his post in the anti -federal money laundering agency. Until he resigned, he was assigned as an additional commissioner at the GST intelligence wing in Delhi. In January last year, the officer inspected the arrest of Jharkhand Prime Minister Soren in a land scam case in Ranchi. JMM leader Raj met the governor in Bhavan and resigned from his post before he was detained by ED. Raj was present at this meeting, and soon his team detained him.

Kapil Raj’s career
Raj, a graduate of B. Tech (Electronics), chaired the Ranchi region of ED as a joint director. He also supervised some high -profile investigations of the agency undertaken by the General Directorate Investigation Unit (HIU), which investigates politically sensitive and complex cases. In addition to the cases of DHFL and Iqbal Mirchi, the officer also investigated the Cases of Money Money against the Diamantaire duo and Mehul Choksi.
