Iran sends chilling ‘Gates of Hell’ warning after Trump’s furious threat | World | News

Iran told Donald Trump that “the gates of hell will be opened” to the United States and Israel if the conflict escalates further. The warning was issued by the head of Iran’s central military command in response to the American president’s angry ultimatum to Tehran, in which he said “apocalypse will reign” in the country if it did not make a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.
General Ali Abdullahi rejected the threat, calling it a “desperate, uneasy, unbalanced and foolish move.” The senior official described Mr. Trump as an “aggressive and warmongering” president. He warned that if the US attacked Iranian infrastructure, Tehran would target infrastructure used by the US Military and Israel “without limitation”.
Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Spokesperson Ibrahim Zolfaghari also repeated similar threats against General Abdullahi, saying: “If the hostility increases, the whole region will turn into hell for you; the illusion of defeating the Islamic Republic of Iran will turn into a swamp that you will fall into.”
The comments came after Mr Trump posted on Truth Social: “Remember I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN THEIR THROAT. Time is running out. 48 hours before Hell reigns over them. Praise be to GOD!”
Mr Trump had previously given Iran 48 hours to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or its energy infrastructure would be destroyed.
Last week, he extended the deadline for Iran to reopen the strait by 10 days, after saying the negotiations were “going very well”.
But Iran’s dominance over the narrow waterway continued, causing global oil and gas prices to soar.
The latest threats came as the search for the missing US airman, whose F-15E fighter jet was shot down in southern Iran, continues.
Iranian authorities have reportedly offered a £45,000 reward for the crew member to be handed over to police.
Israel vowed to “continue to crush” Iran and confirmed on Saturday it had struck a petrochemical complex; Iranian state media reported that at least five people were killed.
