Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is using the war in Iran as a tactic to attack Ukraine more strongly.
Last night, Ukraine was hit by missiles and drones from Moscow, killing four people and causing damage in five regions of the country, according to Ukrainian officials.
Zelensky said: ‘Russia will try to exploit the war in the Middle East to cause even greater destruction in Europe, in Ukraine.’
An Iranian politician said Ukraine was a ‘legitimate and legal target’.
Chairman of Iran’s National Security Commission, Ibrahim Azizi, said that Ukraine supports Israel with unmanned aerial vehicles and this ‘makes the entire Ukrainian territory a legitimate and legal target for Iran in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter’.
Last week, President Zelensky said he was offering to provide support to the United States on drone warfare.
These comments followed Iran’s earlier threats against other European powers perceived to be aiding the United States or Israel in the conflict.
