June 27 (Reuters) – Warren Buffett donated $ 6 billion more Berkshire Hathaway shares to the Gates Foundation, which has been the biggest annual donation since he began to give his reserve about twenty years ago.
The donations of approximately 12.36 million Berkshire Class B increased Buffett’s exceeding $ 60 billion to general charities.
He donated 9.43 million shares to the Gates Foundation; Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation 943,384 shares; and their children Howard, Susie and Peter: Howard G. Buffett Foundation, Sherwood Foundation and Novo Foundation, managed by each of the three charity institutions 660,366.
Warren Buffett has 13.8% of Berkshire shares based on reported stocks.
According to Forbes magazine, the net value of $ 152 billion before the donations on Friday made it the fifth richest person in the world.
Buffett would be the sixth after donations exceeding $ 5.3 billion he donated last June. Last November, he donated 1.14 billion dollars to family charities.
Buffett claimed that Berkshire did not intend to sell his shares.
Now 94, Buffett began to give his reserve in 2006.
He changed his will last year and put 99.5% of his reserves after his death to a charitable trust that was supervised by his children.
It will be about ten years to distribute the money and must unanimously decide where it goes. Susie Buffett 71, Howard Buffett 70 and Peter Buffett 67 years old.
