Iran launched what analysts described as its longest-range strike ever, targeting the joint US-UK base in Diego Garcia; It’s a move that could underscore a significant expansion of Tehran’s missile capabilities.
A US official told CNN that two medium-range ballistic missiles were fired at the base on the island of Diego Garcia. Neither hit the base, the official said.
Analysts said the attack, which was reported to be about 4000km from Iran, was a significant concern as the missile’s range was previously thought to be 2000km.
