Iran’s chief negotiator derided the peace deal after it was signed as “America’s ultimate failure.”
The United States announced the full text of the Memorandum of Understanding before it was signed this evening.
The deal includes extending the ceasefire, opening the Strait of Hormuz, and the US hopes to end the conflict after four months.
It appears that the signing of the peace agreement was “digital” and has now come into force.
Countries now have 60 days after signing the agreement to prove they are willing to comply with the terms.
But Iran’s chief negotiator said the deal was a ‘failure’ for the US.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on state television after the text was published: “The agreement is a record of US failure. People will see it and judge it.”
He reiterated that Tehran will charge fees to ships passing the Strait of Hormuz after the 60-day free period requested in the memorandum of understanding.
The vice president will travel to Switzerland this Friday to sign a memorandum of understanding with Iran to end the conflict in the Middle East.
80-year-old Trump will return to the United States from the G7 summit instead of staying in Europe.
Critics have questioned whether Vance is in a position to take the blame if the deal goes sour.
At the summit in France on Wednesday, Trump was asked directly about the vice president’s role in the deal.

According to Fox News, the president was asked: “Is there an element where you would send the vice president if it works, great, you look like a genius for sending it. And if it doesn’t work, is it the vice president’s fault?”
Trump appeared to respond to this suggestion jokingly.
As the room burst into laughter, he replied with a straight face: “Of course I like that idea.”
“That way, if things go well, I’ll take the credit. If things don’t, I’ll blame JD,” Trump added.
“You better watch out, JD,” Trump continued. “He will turn his plane around and get the hell out of here.”
When the conference ended, Trump said: “Yeah, I like that idea; I think it’s a good idea.”
Before the details of the agreement were announced, the vice president said that Qatari and Pakistani negotiators who brokered the deal “have asked us not to publish the full agreement for a while.”
He added that the United States wanted to “force them out today.”
Vance claimed that he saw the agreement misrepresented and argued that it was “fundamentally a good deal for the American people.”
He went on to praise the agreement, adding: “If the Iranians give us what we need in terms of stopping the financing of terrorism and no longer pursuing nuclear weapons, then they can reap some benefits and be invited back into the world economy.”
