Is Facebook down?: Social media website Facebook suffers major global outage on desktop devices

Thousands of Facebook users have been blocked from accessing their accounts on the social media network’s desktop website.

The issue was first reported after 3.30pm on Sunday.

Oddly, the network’s phone app was working as usual.

The issue appears to be affecting users worldwide.

Down Detector had recorded more than 3,000 complaints as of 4pm on Sunday, and countless others had posted their complaints elsewhere on the internet.
