Donald Trump returns to England – and this time the welcome could not be bigger.
The US President will be organized by King III and Queen Camilla for a two -day state visit completed with a luxury feast, transport procession and even red arrow flypast.
While Wales Prince and Princess will play a pioneering role in the program, Sir Keir Starmer will greet Trump in Dama for the last day bilateral talks.
Downing Street greeted the visit as a “historical opportunity için to cement the vineyards with Washington. The palace from the inside stressed that the exhibited Pump and Pageantry was not more than the traditional treatment provided to the heads of state. Nevertheless, the decision to expand Trump to an unprecedented second state visit divided the view sharply.
Protests are already planned throughout the country, the campaignists accused the government of legitimizing a leader who said that the government has fueled division, weakened democratic norms and said that it rejected the urgency of climate change. For them, spreading the red carpet for a convicted criminal reduces the values and international stance of England.
Others argue that diplomacy requires pragmatism. If he thinks of Trump personally, they think, they say that he remains the President of the United States – a critical ally for trade, defense and global security. While tensions rise in Europe and the Middle East, some believe that Britain can afford Washington, but the controversial leader.
In our July survey, readers were open: 76 percent thought that Britain should not legitimize Trump with a state visit, only 11 percent had a good diplomacy. 8 percent of them said that the visit was acceptable, but the pompom was unnecessary.
