Isabel Marina Vesterberg: King Charles’ cousin Flora welcomes baby girl with traditional Windsor name

King Charles’ cousin Flora Vesterberg has welcomed her first child, a daughter, with her financier husband Timothy.

Flora, who is the granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, the first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth, announced the news with an Instagram post.

“Our daughter Isabel Marina Vesterberg arrived safely on the morning of July 8,” he wrote.

“Timothy and I are so happy and loving towards him. He was also named so because of the blessing he had of having a great-grandmother on my father’s side.

“The name also means ‘sea’, where we always feel most at peace in Scotland and Sweden. Thank you for your thoughtful messages xx”

She shared a photo of the baby sleeping in a crib, wearing a white dress and a matching bonnet.

Isabel is the first great-grandchild of 89-year-old Princess Alexandra.

She is expected to be 62nd in line of succession to the British throne, behind her 31-year-old mother, who is King Charles’ third cousin.

The baby is named after Flora’s great-grandmother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, who later became Duchess of Kent.

Marina was a Greek and Danish princess by birth and became a British princess by marriage when she married Prince George, Duke of Kent, in 1934.

Widowed after her husband died in active service during the Second World War in 1942, Marina was actively involved in royal duties throughout her life.

He died in 1968 at the age of 61.

Other Marinas in the royal family include Flora’s cousin Marina Windsor, who served as maid of honor at Flora’s church blessing and Timothy’s wedding at St James’s Palace in September 2021.

Guests at the wedding included the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, as well as Lady Amelia Windsor and Lord Freddie Windsor.

The church blessing was held the year after Flora and Timothy were married, in a small, private ceremony due to Covid restrictions.

Art historian Flora first announced her pregnancy on Instagram in January.

She posted a photo of herself and her husband with her hand resting on her baby bump and wrote: “I am so happy to share that Timothy and I are expecting our first child. We are truly overjoyed.”
