ISIS celebrates Bondi Beach terror attack with disgusting statement – ‘Heroes’ | World | News

Islamic State has issued a statement calling the Bondi Beach terrorist attack a “point of pride”.

The group published an article on its Telegram channel celebrating the brutal attack on Jews during the incident in Sydney.

ISIS also referred to the alleged attackers as “heroes.”

The surviving suspect, Naveed Akram, is charged with 59 crimes, including 15 murders and one act of terrorism.

In the incident, a 24-year-old young man was seriously injured and his father was killed by the police.

Two men allegedly targeted Australia’s Jewish community during Hanukkah celebrations.

Following the attack, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said it appeared to be inspired by the extremist “Islamic State ideology”.

He added: “Antisemitism has of course been around for a very long time; that’s the point. The Islamic State is an ideology and a hateful act that, tragically, over the last decade, particularly since 2015, has led to the radicalization of some people to this extreme position.”
