Man dies after shooting in Melbourne’s inner north | Melbourne

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot dead in Melbourne’s inner north on Saturday night.

Just after midnight, gunshots rang out at the intersection of Brunswick and King William streets in Fitzroy. Police found a person with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency service personnel tried to provide first aid, but the man died at the scene.

The man has not yet been officially identified.

It is believed a vehicle left the scene before police arrived.

Police are searching for those responsible and no arrests have been made.
