It Was a Disappointment Not Being in ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’: Adrian Grenier

washington:Actor Adrian Grenier shared his “disappointment” at not being able to appear in the upcoming sequel to hit movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.
The actor, who played Andy Hathaway’s boyfriend Nate in the 2006 film, recently spoke about the situation and said that he did not receive a return call for the sequel.
The sequel, titled ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, has already created a buzz among fans of the original film. Many actors from the first film are returning for the second film; these include Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grenier told Page Six that while he was happy for the movie to return, he was upset that he wasn’t asked to be a part of it.
“We’re all fans of the movie, whether we’re in it or not,” Grenier said. “Obviously, it was a disappointment not to get the call to be in the sequel. But I also understand there was some backlash regarding the character Nate, so that might have had something to do with that.”
For many years, fans of the movie have been sharing their opinions about Nate on social media. Some viewers felt that the character did not adequately support Andy as he struggles with the pressures of his demanding job.
When Grenier was asked if he truly believed the “backlash” from fans might be the reason his character wasn’t returning, the actor laughed.
“Against what?” he said.
He added, “Either way it’s a disappointment, and either way it leaves room for a nice spinoff where Nate would have his own movie.”
The first movie, released in 2006, was adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel. The story follows Andy, a young journalist who gets a job as an assistant to powerful fashion editor Miranda Priestly.
Almost twenty years later, the story returns with a new chapter. ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is expected to be released in theaters on May 1, 2026.
