ITN chief executive Rachel Corp steps down with immediate effect to ‘pursue new opportunities’

ITN chief executive Rachel Corp has resigned from her position with immediate effect, the broadcaster announced on Tuesday.
He will be replaced by Ian Rumsey.
Ms. Corp’s departure comes after more than three decades with the organization, where she started as an intern.
His career has included senior leadership roles including editor of ITV News London, 5 News and ITV News, before his four-year stint as chief executive.
His successor, Bafta and RTS-winning producer Ian Rumsey, joined ITN in 2005 after starting his career in newspapers.
He has held senior roles at Ten, including program editor of ITV News’ News and head of content at ITN Productions.
Ms Corp, who will remain at ITN until 22 May to ensure a smooth transition for her successor, said: “After much consideration, I have decided that it is time to step down from my role as CEO and pursue new opportunities.
“ITN has been a huge part of my life and career for over thirty years and it has been a privilege to work alongside so many talented colleagues.

“I am incredibly proud to lead ITN at such a critical time for public service journalism and trusted content in a rapidly changing industry.
“Ian knows and cares about ITN so well and I can’t think of a better person to take the organization forward.
“I’m excited for what comes next and I wish Ian and everyone at ITN every success in the future.”
Mr Rumsey said: “ITN is an extraordinary organisation, full of extraordinary people, world-class journalism and storytellers, but above all with a unique attitude and spirit. Like all media companies, we face real challenges, but we also have huge opportunities and huge potential ahead of us.
“Rachel has given enormous amounts of money to ITN over many years, both as CEO and long before that, and she leaves me with my friendship, admiration and thanks.
“I know everyone at the company will join me in wishing him every success in the future.”
Kyla Mullins, ITN chief executive, said: “Ian is an outstanding editor and executive leader who knows ITN extremely well, having worked in the news division and running ITN Productions for the better part of 20 years.
“We are delighted that he will take the organization to the next level.
“ITN remains one of the most respected and trusted news organizations in the UK and internationally, as well as a prolific hub of content both domestically and globally.
“As the broader media landscape continues to evolve rapidly, we are confident in the future of ITN, the strength of our journalism and production teams and the opportunities ahead.”
