‘I’ve taken this personally’: Liberal MP fires up after vandal graffitied his electoral office in Sydney’s northwest

Liberal MP Anthony Roberts has slammed the vandal responsible for covering the election office with graffiti and vowed to find the man behind the “selfish” act.
Mr Roberts’ office was one of several businesses graffitied in Sydney’s north-west last week.
An unknown man approached a number of businesses on Victoria Road in Gladesville around 4 a.m. on Jan. 23 and painted graffiti on the glass windows of several stores.
Mr Roberts, Member for Lane Cove and shadow minister for policing and counter-terrorism, strongly condemned the vandal’s action and announced that the entire window would need to be replaced due to the damage.
“Normally you can get professionals in and clean it, but this guy used acidic paint so the paint got into the pores inside the window,” Mr Roberts told NewsWire.

“So that means you have to replace the window.
“He could have walked down that road and broken every window.”
Mr Roberts said the graffiti read “meow”.
His thoughts are those of small local businesses affected in the area, who say they will now have to pay thousands of dollars to address the graffiti.
“These people work seven days a week, a lot of them have their electric bills go up, their rent goes up… they’re having to pay $6,000 to replace a window,” he said.

“(The government) has deep pockets… but small businesses don’t, and that’s very selfish, that’s very justified.”
He promised to find the person responsible.
“I took this personally… I will find this person with the police,” he said.
No charges were filed regarding the incident.
Police have appealed for information and released a photo of a man they believe could assist their investigation.
The man was described as Caucasian looking.
He was last seen wearing a black Boston Celtics jersey, a green hooded sweater and a black hat.
