J.P. Nadda alleges Hemant Soren of betraying people of Jharkhand

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda on Saturday, December 6, 2025, accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Congress government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren of not providing a safe passage to ‘infiltrators’ in Santhal Pargana.

Mr. Nadda, while addressing a conference of party workers in Deoghar after inaugurating party offices in Deoghar and Gumla districts, said that ‘Intelligencemen’ were protected by the State Government and such a government should be uprooted and thrown out of power.

“The population of tribals is slowly and gradually decreasing due to illegal infiltration. In 1951, the tribal population in Santhal Pargana was 45 per cent, which has now come down to 28 per cent. Attacking the Soren government over the law and order situation in the state, Mr. Nadda said the Chief Minister had turned a tribal-dominated state into a crime hub.

Accompanied by Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi, MP Nishikant Dubey and former Chief Minister Champai Soren, Mr. Nadda said the Congress has always been associated with the politics of appeasement and was ruled by dividing the society and engaging in religion and caste-based politics.

“The policy of the Congress was to divide and disintegrate the society; it had its roots in appeasement. But Modi ji has changed this completely and now the policy of development is happening,” Mr. Nadda said.

He also accused the Congress of being the ‘defender of the infiltrators’ and not taking any steps towards uplifting the tribals.

“We (BJP) are the largest political party in the world. We have ten lakh active workers. This is the only party where you don’t need to be born in a special family to become national president. Here you can rise from cabinet level to national president,” he said. said Nadda.

He said that NDA is in power in 20 states, of which BJP is in power alone in 13 and Jharkhand will soon be one of them.

Mr. Nadda said the BJP was the only ideological party, while the Congress and other parties had reduced themselves to dynastic attire.

Highlighting the Bihar Assembly election results, Mr. Nadda said, “The Bihar results have just come out. While the Congress is stunned, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) cannot make sense of the result and a party (Vikassheel Insaan Party) that had dreams of securing the Deputy Chief Minister post could not win even a single seat. The other party managed to recover its deposits in only three constituencies, while the rest were wiped out.” “This is the result of the unwavering trust of the people of Bihar in Modi ji and confidence in the work of Nitish ji.”

Before addressing party workers, Mr. Nadda visited Baba Baidyanath Dham.

Reacting to Mr. Nadda’s remarks, JMM Central General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya told The Hindu: “The Center has withheld every penny and constitutional rights that Jharkhand is entitled to. The dues from the Center are more than 1.50 lakh crore and they are not releasing the money. They are the ones who looted the PSUs and handed over to Adani and Ambani.”

Mr. Bhattacharya further said, “They gave Godda land to Adani to generate electricity for Bangladesh and are blaming us for coming here to vote. They have connections with Bangladesh. Since they have already lost land in Jharkhand, they have nothing to say and they will not come back in the next 20 years.”
