YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized Prime Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his “privatization of medical colleges” and weakening Arogyasri health program.
In a mission in X, Mr. Jagan Mohan Redy said that andhra Pradesh had 11 state medical colleges until 2019, while Mr. Naidu did not establish new ones during his previous term. The YSRCP government built 17 colleges between 2019-2024 and five of them were completed. A university accepted the students after the elections. If the government continued to work, 12 colleges would have become operational, ”he said.
Andhra Pradesh said that when YSRCP started to work, it was 2,360 MBBS chair and that new colleges are expected to add 2,550 seats and doubled the total to almost 4,910 times. Approximately 800 students were already accepted in completed institutions. He said the model was designed to make medical education accessible, and half of the seats are free and the rest is designed at much lower costs than private colleges.
He claimed that the coalition government had left Arogyasri. In the last 15 months, approximately 4,500 Crore owed to the hospital, leaving only about 4,000 Crore dues, only 600 crore was released. During the recovery, patients, which provides patients 5,000 LA per month, pointed out that the benefit of ‘Arogyasri Aasara’ was stopped.
Bay Jagan, who warned the program against the shift to private insurance companies, said that such companies are profit -oriented and may not meet future health crises.
YSRCP returned to power, reversing the privatization of medical colleges and said he would completely restore Arogyasri.
