Jagannath Temple Sets Up First Breastfeeding Room for Devotee Mothers

BHUBANESWAR: In an important step to make religious areas more inclusive and family -friendly, Odisha established the first special breastfeeding room for mothers who visited the temples with infants.

The new installation can host up to four mothers at a time and are equipped with comfortable sitting and privacy arrangements. Two female temples (Jagannath Temple Police Staff) were deployed to help mothers and provide trouble -free functionality.

With thousands of dedications that have taken the throne of the 12th century temple every day, many women have long struggled to find a safe and honorable space to feed their children. The temple administration, which responds to this long -standing demand, created the facility near the temple complex to provide comfort and comfort for nursing mothers.

In case of emergency, a medical team was also deployed to provide immediate help.
