Albert Regis’ NFL dream came true Friday when the Jacksonville Jaguars selected the former Texas A&M defensive tackle in the third round of the NFL Draft.
Before Regis knew where his NFL career would begin, his younger daughter seemed to know his landing spot. In a video posted on social media, baby Akari was seen crawling towards a cup bearing the Jaguar logo.
This move showed that Akari’s father had effectively predicted which team he would play for in his rookie season.

Regis, who stands 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds, honed his game in the trenches at Texas A&M as a nose tackle focused on slowing down opposing running backs.
Regis’ jump to the pros left a hole on the Aggies’ defensive line. Texas A&M closed the gap by bringing in CJ Mims, a transfer from North Carolina.

Mims lined up at nose tackle for UNC at a significantly higher rate than Regis. Mims began his college career at East Carolina before transferring to Chapel Hill. The 2026 season will be his fifth season in the college football ranks.

Former Illinois defensive tackle Angelo McCullom also committed to Texas A&M. DJ Hicks is expected to return and remain a key part of the Aggies’ defensive line rotation.
