Jal Biradari seeks implementation of Supreme Court directive as ‘encroachments continue’

Jal Biradari national convener Bolisetty Satyanarayana on Thursday, April 16, 2026, alleged that ecological degradation of Kolleru Lake located between Krishna and Godavari districts continues, calling for immediate removal of fresh encroachments and strict implementation of Supreme Court directives.

To talk Hindu On the sidelines of a press conference in Visakhapatnam, Mr Satyanarayana described Kolleru, which has been declared a Ramsar wetland and wildlife sanctuary, as a critical ecological asset that is “consistently declining due to illegal aquaculture and political inaction”.
